Bentham is just over 2 miles away where there are good shops and pubs, and Kirkby Lonsdale, Ingleton and Settle are within easy driving distance. On the edge of the Forest of Bowland, this is a superb centre for touring the Dales, West Coast and Lake District. For the walker there are very good walks both locally and within a short drive.
