BOOKING CONDITIONS
a) Holiday Cottages serves solely as a booking agent, acting on behalf of both the owner and the holidaymaker.
b) If you wish to change the dates of your holiday or your choice of property after confirmation has been issued then you will be liable to pay a handling fee of ?25.00 to change dates or ?50.00 to change property. It is not possible to rearrange your holiday less than eight weeks prior to its commencement.
c) It may be necessary to make alterations to the holiday arrangements for reasons beyond our control, such as a property being removed from our register. Should this occur every attempt will be made to make other suitable arrangements with as little inconvenience as possible, or all payments made (excluding any Insurance Premiums) will be refunded without delay. Holiday Cottages will not accept any further liability for losses or expenses resulting from this. Holiday Cottages also has no obligation for any alterations caused by Civil Strife, sickness, bad weather, strikes, transportation problems or any other circumstances unforeseeable and/or beyond the control of Holiday Cottages.
d) As you will appreciate several parties are involved in the planning and provision of your holiday. Consequently their use is subject to the conditions of their owners and all are subject to International Law. Accordingly Holiday Cottages cannot accept responsibility for loss of life, injury, loss or damage to personal property, unless caused as a direct result of our own negligence or that of our servants and agents.
e) The holidaymaker undertakes to leave the property and its contents in the same condition as at the commencement of the holiday and to leave the properties in the same state of cleanliness in which they were found. The owner of the property should be compensated for any damage and breakages which may occur. Some owners may request a securit deposit to cover damage and excessive cleaning.
f) The number of people using the holiday home must not exceed the number stated in the property description or that shown on the confirmation invoice. A baby under two years of age and sleeping in a cot is not included in this number.
g) The owner of the property or persons acting on behalf of the owner must be allowed access to the property on giving reasonable notice (except in case of emergency) at any reasonable time during your stay.
h) The information on this site relevant to each property was known to be correct at August 2007. However some facilities may have been altered since that date over which Holiday Cottages has no control, subsequently we can accept no responsibility for such changes.
i) Final payment for the total cost of the holiday must be received by Holiday Cottages eight weeks prior to commencement of the holiday. Failure to do so may mean that you will lose your holiday. If any cheque payment is returned to us by our bank the charges for this will be passed on to you.
j) Once a holidaymaker has returned home it is very difficult for Holiday Cottages to investigate complaints of any nature. Regrettably therefore Holiday Cottages are unable to accept any claims that are notified more than seven days after completion of the holiday and will not enter into any correspondence concerning such claims.
k) It is possible that, during your holiday, something could go wrong. Should this happen, please contact the owner/caretaker of your property during your stay. Should the matter remain unresolved then please contact Holiday Cottages immediately, who will endeavour to settle the issue on the spot.
l) Should the rate of VAT vary from 17.5% before you book your holiday, then the holiday price will be altered accordingly.
m) Should it be necessary for a customer to cancel a booking then Holiday Cottages must be notified immediately by phone, and confirmed in writing. If the holiday insurance has been taken out and the reason for cancellation is covered by the insurance, Holiday Cottages will require the relevant documents for the claim to be processed. If the holiday is cancelled more than eight weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday and the reason is not covered by the insurance policy you will lose your deposit and any insurance premiums. If you cancel within eight weeks of the start date, whether or not the final balance has been paid, you are liable for the total cost of the holiday. However, if the property is relet we will refund the balance or equivalent.
n) Bookings may be made over the telephone and paid for by debit or credit card, but such bookings are accepted by Holiday Cottages only on the understanding that these Booking Conditions have been read and accepted by the holidaymaker(s). When booking by telephone you are required to confirm that you have read and agree to these Booking Conditions. Our Booking Conditions can be viewed on our website at www.holidaycotts.co.uk
p) Data Protection. We collect and store the information you give us when making a reservation. We pass some of this information on to the owner/caretaker of the cottage you have reserved so that they can assist with arrangements. The information we collect and store is done so using proper security measures. We do not pass any of the information to third parties but may use it for our own marketing purposes.
